A NYC Government agency seeks
candidates for designated managerial level supervising Investigator
positions. Supervises the work of Rackets Investigators in the securing and
verifying of facts for use in criminal proceedings and for possible legislative
action; makes especially difficult investigations. Applicants must have
extensive knowledge and investigative experience in one or more of the
following areas: organized crime, narcotics trafficking, money laundering, and
violent crime. Supervises work of Rackets Investigators, suggesting work
methods; checks progress; reviews reports. Assist investigators and Assistant
District Attorneys in preparation of material for trial. Supervision of
Investigators who are responsible for surveillance, monitor court authorized
wire- taps, examine business records, collect evidence, and participate in
sensitive undercover operations. It is preferred that applicants have knowledge
and experience with court procedures and criminal trials, the ability to
assist in preparation of cases for court and to testify effectively in court.
Conducts especially difficult and highly confidential investigations and
library research projects. Prepares reports and maintains necessary
confidential records. Performs related work and all other duties as
Qualification Requirements/Preferred Skills:
Minimum of 4 years of full–time paid or criminal investigative experience in
police enforcement or investigative work, two years of rackets or police
investigative work required. Current or renewable NYS police officer
certification preferred. All candidates must pass a physical and psychological
fitness exam and an extensive background check.
