A NYC Government agency seeks
candidates for a senior level Investigator position.
Applicants must have
extensive knowledge and investigative experience in one or more of the
following areas: organized crime; narcotics trafficking; money laundering; gang
investigations; and violent crime. Senior level investigators supervise the
work of Rackets Investigators in conducting especially difficult investigations
and in the securing and verifying of facts for use in criminal proceedings and
possible legislative action. They suggest work methods, check progress of work
by Rackets Investigators, review reports and assist other investigators and
Assistant District Attorneys in the preparation of material for trial. Senior
level Investigators must conduct surveillance; monitor court authorized wire
taps; examine business records; collect evidence; and participate in sensitive
undercover operations. It is preferred that applicants have: knowledge and
experience with court procedures and criminal trials; the ability to assist in
preparation of cases for court; and the ability to testify effectively in
court. Senior level Investigators are required to conduct especially difficult
and highly confidential investigations and library research projects. They are
required to prepare reports, maintain necessary records of activities, and
perform all other duties as assigned by the Chief Investigator or his
Minimum of 3 years of full–time paid experience or criminal investigative
experience related to organized crimes, narcotics trafficking, and
financial crimes. All candidates are required to have one year of
full-time, paid experience in complex rackets or police investigative work.
Extensive knowledge of the application of laws relating to criminal violations
required. Current or renewable NYS police officer certification preferred.
All candidates must pass a physical and psychological fitness exam and an
intensive background check.
