Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution
dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service is seeking applicants for Chair of the Criminal
Justice & Security Management (CJSM) Program in the School for Professional
Studies.
The individual holding this
position is responsible for directing the CJSM Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree
program, as well as the criminal justice, security management, and security
management technology minors offered through the program. Responsibilities of
the Chair include oversight of the curriculum, teaching, student and faculty
mentoring, and service. The position is an assistant professor, non-tenure
track faculty position to begin July 22, 2012.
Qualifications: The School for Professional Studies requires all candidates to possess at least a Master’s degree (a Ph.D. is preferred) within the field of Sociology, Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related discipline. Qualified applicants must have some background, experience, or expertise in the area of security or security management. Due to the focus of the position, the candidate must demonstrate competency in teaching adult students, working with technology to deliver online education, building and maintaining relationships within the larger business community, and developing faculty. All faculty members within the School for Professional Studies are required to engage in scholarship; therefore application materials must demonstrate a commitment to scholarly activities. The position requires a 10-month appointment with a flexible work schedule that includes some evening or weekend responsibilities. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
