The Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor seeks
candidates for Investigator positions.
Applicants must have extensive knowledge and
investigative experience in one or more of the following areas: organized crime;
narcotics trafficking; money laundering; gang investigations; and violent crime.
Investigators are required to: conduct surveillance; monitor court authorized
wire-taps; examine business records; collect evidence; participate in sensitive
undercover operations; make arrests; and perform extraditions. It is preferred
that applicants have knowledge and experience with court procedures and
criminal trials (e.g. the ability to assist in the preparation of cases for
court and to the ability to testify effectively in court as a witness). A minimum
of 2 yearspolice enforcement or criminal investigative experience is required. Experience in working with other law
enforcement agencies is a plus.B.A. degree is preferred.
Qualification
Requirements/Preferred Skills:
Current
New York State police officer certification preferred. All candidates must pass a physical and
psychological fitness exam and an intensive background check. Comprehensive benefits package including
