Founded in 1855, today’s Millersville University is one of the most highly regarded public universities in its region of the United States and is consistently ranked as one of the safest colleges in the nation. Campus patrol officers, commissioned through the office of the Governor, perform full range general duty police work - patrols, service related calls for students and faculty including unlocking of buildings and locked vehicles, student safety escorts, issuing citations, making arrests, crime prevention, investigating motor vehicle accidents, interviewing witnesses, answering calls for misdemeanors/felonies, other law enforcement duties. Seeking candidates geared toward community policing concepts to work with our campus community. May be assigned/ trained for specialized duties. Duties are diverse, both physically and psychologically demanding. Must be PA Act 120 certified or Act 120 certified and eligible by 07/05/2018. Demonstrated evidence of working effectively in diverse population. Valid PA driver’s license; basic PC skills; successful interview, pre-employment physical, psychological, firearms tests, background evaluation.
