The City is recruiting a Chief of
Police whose skill set matches the City’s core values of integrity, leadership,
service and teamwork. The ideal candidate will possess a BS/BA in Public
Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field and be an accomplished law
enforcement professional. The successful candidate should also possess (or be
able to obtain within 60 days) a valid Class D Montana Driver’s License and
possess Montana POST Basic – Command Certifications (or equivalent). The Chief
of Police provides leadership and directs the operations and activities of the
City Police Department. The Chief of Police is hired by the City Manager; reports
directly to the Assistant City Manager.

The Bozeman Police Department is
responsible for providing all law enforcement services for the City of
Bozeman. The Department
utilizes both patrol and investigative divisions to detect, prevent, and
suppress crime and the enforcement of criminal and traffic codes of the state
and local governments.
