President Keith Cross and the members of the Northern Illinois Chapter (NIC) are pleased to share the following accomplishments with you.

What a joy it is to be a part of the greatest law enforcement organization in the world! The Northern Illinois Chapter of NOBLE has been in existence for fifteen years and growing stronger with each passing day. Although we are small in numbers, we are large in unity, leadership, commitment to community and each other.

In 2009, the NIC-NOBLE sponsored and participated in numerous events in support of the various communities we serve. In closing the 2008 season, NIC-NOBLE celebrated the holiday season with our annual scholarship fundraiser/ holiday gala to which we were highly successful in raising monies to support the recipients of the NIC-NOBLE Law Enforcement Scholarship which was presented in October 2, 2009. We are currently planning for our 2009 holiday gala/ scholarship fundraiser to be held December 18, 2009.

June through August, 2009 was the NIC's Annual Golf Outing which was a huge success! Over 90 golfers attended the function demonstrating continual support of our efforts in the communities. The NIC-NOBLE also co-sponsored several community fundraising events and numerous youth initiatives in 2009.

NIC-NOBLE co-hosted a fundraiser for assisted living residents of public housing along with: the Housing Authority of Elgin (Illinois) and celebrity comedian and actor Michael Collier.

NIC-NOBLE, along with Rainbow P.U.S.H.; BBOCNO (Black Business Owners Community Network Organization); and Elgin Community College (Illinois) sponsored a "No to Drugs and Gangs" youth initiative (Hipp-Hopp Detox) for area high school students, which showcased groups providing positive messages through hip-hop poetry and dance.

NIC-NOBLE also conducted over twenty (20) "Law and You" presentations at area middle and high schools and community centers, to which thousands of young people have attended. Thus far in 2009, the NIC-NOBLE has seen a 25% increase in membership and still growing. Our recruiting efforts have netted us quality individuals from various education, business and law enforcement agencies within our area. Through our recently developed partnership with the local distribution outlet store for Nike, we hope to expose and educate our area young people with and through additional opportunities for higher learning and employment.

The NIC-NOBLE remains committed and dedicated to the people of our various communities and to the efforts and goals of NOBLE. God bless! WE ARE NIC-NOBLE "Justice by Action"
