The Fall NOBLE National Executive Board meeting included two full days of dialogue with a new outlook on the direction of NOBLE. National President Ernest Green set the tone by starting the meeting off with a message of encouragement.
The meeting was convened in Denver, CO in conjunction with the IACP Conference. I was pleasantly surprised to be joined by associate member Eugene Stewart a Detective Sergeant from the Northern New Jersey Chapter of NOBLE.
With his quiet demeanor, Eugene got to see first hand the NOBLE Executive Board in action.
Eugene assisted Second Vice President Jiles Ship who is also the President of the Northern New Jersey Chapter. Jiles Ship and I discussed the importance of regular Board members to allow Associate Members to shadow them at meetings and significant events. I believe that this will encourage our Associate Members and stimulate their professional development with the opportunity to be mentored by leaders in the organization.
For those Associate Members who will succeed me on the Executive Board or those aspiring to be law enforcement executives, it is imperative that they attend at least one Executive Board meeting. This will begin their preparation as possibly the next National Associate Members' Representative and will help them become a well rounded member for our NOBLE organization
