The University of Minnesota is seeking a proven law
enforcement leader and innovative manager to serve as its next Chief of Police.
The Chief of Police reports to the Vice President for University Services and
leads the University of Minnesota Police Department (UMPD) on the Twin Cities
campus. The Twin Cities campus has a
student population of 52,000 and 16,000 employees. UMPD is a fully sworn and Minnesota-POST
certified, 24/7 police agency with an annual budget of $14 million and a staff
of approximately 80 full-time staff (including 50 sworn full-time officers),
170 part-time police officers, and 150 student employees.
